Until July 29th within the Appia Antica Regional Park a unique event will be held, a dialogue between the ancient and the modern to rediscover the life of the bourgeoisie in the nineteenth century.
In the exhibition "Grand Tour of Italy“, The most beautiful images of the painters of the 18th and 19th centuries will be presented, reproduced on transparent panels and projections. This event also supports the exhibition "Regina Viarum Appia via ... solar pathway”Which will be inaugurated and opened simultaneously. Outside the exhibition rooms, new suggestions will also accompany us in a itinerary in Carrozza d'Epoca in the Caffarella Valley, through visions of the last glimpses of the Roman countryside, as it once appeared to the eyes of travelers, to discover sacred places hidden by time and ancient flavors.
In the Sala Appia at the Cartiera Latina, the collective exhibition will be set up "To you for Tour ”, which brings together very different artists to try to give an image of the world and of the idea of a complex and articulated journey. A kaleidoscope that reflects the variety of our landscape, our history and our society. An exploration of the landscape as a mixture of history and nature, present and memory. The place is worth a visit just for its historical importance: the Latin paper mill, was granted to the Regional Park of Appia Antica, to make it its headquarters and a multi-purpose service and reception center, and in 1998 it was one of the largest paper production plants in the Central South. Today it is among the few industrial plants survivors in the city of Rome. A unique structure of its kind and exceptional for its strategic position close to the Aurelian Walls, lapped for its entire length by the Almone River.
For the duration of the event it will be possible to travel in the nineteenth century, among the original works of the painters of the Grand Tour of 700/800 to contemporary works of art, including exhibitions, conferences, music, educational workshops for children, historical dances, carriage rides and much more, to discover the fascination of the Journey in Italy in an extraordinary exhibition path immersed in the evocative setting of the Appia Antica Park in Rome.
During the period of the event you will be able to experience the thrill of returning to the 19th century by participating in the carriage rides organized by the Carrozze d'Epoca museum, and you will live a unique experience immersed in the Roman countryside within the ancient and mysterious Caffarella Park.
And for the little ones? Will be made educational workshops related to the 800 in which having fun can discover many scientific aspects, artistic, cultural life in 800.
